Canceling a charge

If you are a partner, you should provide your merchants with a method to cancel a transaction or request a refund using our void and refund endpoints. Programmatically canceling payments or issuing refunds is more efficient than logging in to the AffiniPay web application and processing voids or refunds manually.

Things to remember:

• Voids cancel payments. A payment can be voided as long as the transaction is still in an “Authorized” state. Depending on the payment network to which we sent the charge, authorizations may no longer be voidable in as little as 30 minutes. Voids are not subject to processing fees.
• Full or partial refunds can be issued up to six months after the original transaction date. A refund does not reimburse processing fees associated with the initial transaction.
